The Esteem got the $100 rebate about a week or so after launch, and it was retroactive for anyone who got one at launch.
 
My mothers birthday is coming up next month, and she's had the ascend since it came out. I'm thinking about getting her the connect or the 4g Samsung coming out (forgot name, Attain?)
Which would be better? She likes to play games and doesn't really bother with making sure apps are closed after use, so it seems the connect has that with 1g ram. I don't know any of the specs on the attain though so I don't know if it will suit her

Side note: why is this in root lol

The Connect is the better of the two. And the Samsung Attain is already in stores. Out of those two I'd get the Connect, especially considering how bad of a phone the Samsung Galaxy Indulge is (that phone was a waste of money).

I'm sick of my esteem I can't wait till the connect comes and I can get rid of this clunky phone, I looked at a few hands on videos and Kim impressed the screen isn't bigger but it's better, dual core means better response and it's more than likely to get ICS and it will fit better in my jeans

Ill be updateing to the connect. I got my trusty old optimistic but its around time to put the old girl to rest know what I mean? Was planing on getting the esteem but decided against it between duelcore(and the possibility of oc) and the nova display. I've seen those before on my friends optimus black and it was buetiful.(as good as if nor better than iPhone display.) So yeah ima go with the connect. B-) got the $$ just waiting for release date.
 
yall are crazy to want the connect just think about the work they put in for the esteem do u really think any of these guys that are making roms for us is just gonna up n leave and if lg found way to make the esteem hard to root what make u think the connect gonna be any easier so what it may have three things the esteem doesnt have that doesnt make a better phone all around so let u get the phone and by any means they come out with the esteem 2 u gonna be one mad son of a gun they always say patients is better

Well the thing is. If you are upgrading now , its a good chance to test it out the connect and see how well it runs. But IMO its pointless to upgrade from the Esteem .

I went into my local store today, and asked about it. The guy there said they had gotten in the dummy model. I asked if I could take a look at it, and he said no. I can only assume that's 'cause he wasn't supposed to allow it.
