I recently replaced the screen on my LG E970. I can get the phone to turn on. I hear the LG boot noise and see the bottom icons light up but the screen stays black. I can touch on the screen and hear it making noises but cant see anything. Ive tried removing the battery, waiting and reseating it. Checked the internal connections all seem fine. I tried a hard reset(holding power + vol down) or thought I did(hard to tell not being able to see screen). I cant get anything to show on screen. Any help would be great! Thank you.
 
Good call. And all connections are secure? I have replaced a few screens before and one connection being offset or the little plastic clams that hold a cable in place not being all the way down can cause that. Or worst case a wire or connection has been damaged.

I used a video similar to see how to fully disassemble phone. I can connect my old screen and it lights up and everything but its smashed to pieces. New one the screen seems to not really light up but the digitizer is working.(which im assuming is for the touch ability) Could screen just be bad or? Any other suggestions
 
It could be the screen is bad itself yes. I used to buy old Evo 4G's and Evo 3d's from Ebay, Craigslist etc. With broken screens and then replace the screens and digitizer and sell them on Ebay. Alot of people don't like Ebay but i never had an issues with products from them.

I don't sell on Ebay no more as i got banned after 500-600 sales for digital delivery.
For the price of a new screen + digitizer you might be able to buy a used phone that is the same model on Ebay or whatever site.
 
Well i purchased the screen and digitizer together off of ebay. Came with tools and adhesive. Not sure how id get money back for that cuz its on phone with the adhesive. Sure they would want me to ship it back. Just odd screen stays black but the icons show up at the bottom when its on. Im not really looking for another phone as this one is for someone else. If i cant find any other solutions i guess ill have to scrap this project.
