Im coming at you with a problem Im facing with my LG Esteem.
It was easier for me to video this and post it on youtube rather than type this all out and try and explain everything. Visuals are always better anyways for explanations.

Have you tried uninstalling everything LG/Esteem related and reinstalling it all fresh?

I did I went to the LG Website forums and re-installed the official Esteem drivers and rebooted my computer and it all worked fine.

Now to root my phone.

First time I tried the One-Click-Root was on my WinXP machine... Never would work. Then I thought what the heck - I installed the drivers and such on my friends slow a$$ WinVista laptop, next thing I know, Bam! Rooted...

Just a suggestion...

Win xp always have trouble with androids, you have to make it work with extra stuff needed to do.
