Help lg esteem internal memory

why is my esteem reading 4gb of internal memory? and not 8.

Because only 4 is accessible by the user. The other 4 is used for the system/phone.

Lol. Simplest explanation I have witnessed regarding the confusing internal storage in esteem.

I've actually wondered why there's two internal storage numbers. There's "Internal Memory" which is the 4 GB we're talking about here but under that there's "Internal Storage" of ~1.3 GB. Is the 1.3 reserved purely for applications?

All I know is that this coupled with my 4 GB SD card means I'm never running out of room for my junk lol
