Root lg esteem tethering

So are you just unlucky when MetroPCS catches you tethering?

Sent from my LG-MS910 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5

It's on their TOS that you aren't allowed to tether and it states that they can basically blacklist your phone. So, I have to say that do this at your own risk.

As far as I know, MetroPCS hasn't been trying to "catch" people from tethering. They seemed to have blocked torrents though.

That said, other carriers have this same policy on the TOS, but there are millions of people across different carriers who do tether and it seems that the other carriers haven't exercised this option to ban people who tether. Are they just going to start banning millions of people? Instead of banning, the carriers decided placed allowance limitations on data.

I think the main reason why carriers don't like tethering is because there might be people who use their data as a primary source of internet in which users can eat up 10-100GB of data a month and the tiered data plans gets rid of that. Now that MetroPCS has adopted the tiered data plans, I don't think they'll worry about tethering since you're basically paying accordingly to how much data you use.

So far, I haven't read any articles of people being blacklisted for tethering or using too much data. I only spent around 2-3 hours total in the past 2 years because I too was scared of the possible repercussions, but it doesn't seem like it actually happens. Just don't go all crazy and use up 50GB even if you're on their $70 plan and have them make an example out of you. lol.

I understand stand what your saying but I never passed a 8gb reason my data is off most of the day to save battery when I'm home my wireless network is too far away from my room to connect to my ps3 so I use my phone instead which is good enough I guess metro can't catch me if I'm only using it on a game console
