MetroPCS LG MS910 LG Esteem (code name "Bryce") LTE 4G - YouTube

Latest info is probably September 29 launch date, with rumors of $249 price after a $100 mail in rebate. $349 purchase price, but $249 after the rebate.


Wi-fi hotspot feature (i.e. Metro approved tethering) supposedly to launch in late October for extra fee. Connect up to 8 wi-fi devices to the phone. I don't need that myself but lots of people seem obsessed by tethering.
 
Does anyone know for sure when the new phone comes out. Ive looked at Metro website and they have nothing. Sometimes when a new phone comes out they put it up there but with a pic on there but tells how much and specs.

It really sounds like a good phone, I'm going to be checking out the customer reviews once it comes out. I'm really curious about Metro's LTE network are people getting good reception? I switched to VM because I couldn't get one bar with Metro at my apartment. And I am one who likes tethering because I hate paying extra for internet service, so if they don't charge too much, that would work for me.

Metro is finishing up Phase 2 of their LTE buildout where their LTE signal completely overlays their CDMA coverage. Last year when they launched they only had LTE transmitters on their 100 busiest cell sites in each market. That's 1,400 cell sites -- compared to the 11,000 CDMA cell sites. Now they are fixing that.

Insiders say Sept 29 right now is the target date. Earlier is was just "late September" with a range of September 21 - 30, with no specific date.
 
Hello, since the LG Esteem does not have a specific release date and many people are dating it between September 21st and October 4th, I decided to check Metro Pcs web site every morning when I wake up... And this morning " September 25th" The page is blank.... Not working.... I remember the last time this happened was when they where posting the Samsung Galaxy Indulge in there page up for sale... In a few hours from now we should be able to find out... About releasing the LG Esteem today or not.... What do you think? Any Updates on the Release Date for the LG Esteem????

Yep it's a go for me the price is right the screen size is right the horse power is right yep I can finally put down ma Dell Streak5 Metro PCS there I come can't wait :D:D
 
Now they are saying the MIR won't go into effect until 10/1. There's so much demand for this phone they think they can sell it for full price the first few days.
 
i noticed on the Esteem page (for Metro) the description states is has Gingerbread 2.3 on it, but if you go down to the bottom of the page to look at the specs, it lists the OS as Android 2.2. I do like the fact that it has 8gb of internal storage, which is MAGNORMUS compared to the 200megs in my Optimus :-(
 
I will be buying one. I will wait until they do the rebate. I have loved my Optimus but, it's 4G time. The wife will be more than happy with the Optimus being she has a Freeform POS :)
 
I'd like to get, but I'm going to wait. My wife and I generally use our tax refund to get purchases like this, and next years refund is pretty much spoken for. It'll have to wait 'till '13's refund I guess. If the Esteem is no longer being sold then (such as the way of the Optimus M) then by golly I'll just get what has come out newer and better. :)
 
I have a stupid question.

Is the Esteem superior than the Indulge? The specs seem a lot better than the Indulge but why hasn't MetroPCS lowered the price of the Indulge?

The Indulge has been at $299 since April and it's not even that good. I'm just surprised that the Indulge is still so highly priced.

Hmmmm, it's not showing a rebate on the website but, maybe they are offering it in the store? Well let me correct myself then, it will have to wait till next paycheck because this one is going for rent. I think I can hold out for a couple of weeks ;)
