LG G3 Camera laser focus

I recently got a new LG G3 from ATT. I noticed that as soon as I turn on the camera, take a video or pic, the laser focus glows red. I think I read somewhere that it is invisibile but I can clearly see the red laser.
I installed the flashlight app as well and when I turn on the flash, the red laser is turned on as well.
I just wanted to confirm from the G3 users if this is normal and by design or something wrong with my device?

I see the red laser light in the phone but its not visible beyond that. When my flashlight app (Torch) is on, so is the red glow from the laser.
