Help LG G3 & Miracast

I have not got the Miracast icon on my notification bar. How do I get it? Also Miracast in settings keeps turning off and I can not find a solution in the forum.

op - check to see how much ram the miracast device has. if it's older it might only have 128mb of ram. is probably not the phone

Folks - Samsung offers an app for the Galaxy devices that let's you play the TV on your Samsung phone... like watching a game, for example. Is there any software out there that would let the G3 connect to a Samsung smart TV?

Several. However all of the apps I'm aware of require a Chromecast. I highly recommend it btw for casting to any TV. Its only $32 and worth every penny. Smart TV apps can be limiting. Whereas your phone/tablet is doing the streaming and there are hundreds of apps that allow casting to a chromecast.

**SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND***
Speculation has been going around that with the lollipop upgrade, it's been even more difficult to connect via Miracast....until now. If Miracast doesn't work:
1)go to your picture gallery
2)click on any picture
3) hit settings
4) tap the SMARTSHARE BUTTON
5) it'll recognize your tv and connect it
6) once you're connected, hit the home button, and do as your heart wishes(:

I really feel like this is the key we've all been waiting for.
Tell me if it works for yall.

Has anyone else had a problem with Miracast not staying connected? The picture randomly freezes on my tv then Miracast disconnects itself.
I do not have an LG but I do have a Samsung s4 and miracast is ridiculous I can log on almost every single time but after 30 seconds sometimes a minute it disconnects with a statement saying "Miracast has been disconnected"...
But by whom it never says. Understand comcast has a new device out about 2 weeks ago, I'm probably going to buy it because I'm really sick and tired of trying miracast. I read a new chromecast device is out within the last couple weeks. I plan to buy it because I'm done with miracast.
Again as whiskey stated, he has no trouble connecting... it just keep disconnecting automatically which is my exact problem.

Almost any sony DVD player or media box today will do that. It is good for your mirror casting on any TV.

That is what I'm trying to use it with & I can't even get it to stay connected long enough to watch 1 scene on Hulu. Is there a trick to keeping it connected?

In defense of the G3, I rarely have found Miracast work very well in general. Seems too many conflicts to make it work as intended so far. Would have preferred micro hdmi out, but different companies are trying to secure different standards as becoming THE standard so everyone can pay the patent owner royalties for including the tech in their device.

HDMI out is cool :)

Turn off connection optimizer...I've found out that for some reason it wants to overide a third party wifi or dlna connection and disconnect it.
