Hey guys im running true a small problem when im trying to root this g4.. I have the rooted img and the comands.. I have windows 7 .. And in the instruction on how to root they say to shift and right click to oppen up a comand window i dont have that option .. Is their another way or difrent instruction .. Anny help would be great .. Phone is true rogers (h812 10h) ..

im wondering if theirs any instructions on how to root the g4 with a mac i have not found anything id love to get this phone rooted .. i think im going to try it with a different pc unless anyone has encountered the same issue and tell how they've worked around it .... wheres all the g4 people...

Now do i leave the rooted img on the internal sd and just run the script on the termenal emulator instead of the pc im guessing

And im missing the port bat to see witch diag or is that skipped since its on the phone its self ? Thanks .. Ive only rooted a few phones last one was a g2 and tottaly difrent process

It was the only place i found the h812 v10h so i got the file their and put it on the internal sd as is no folders nothing

Ive ben waiting and debating if i should root this phone but im in no rush to do it but it would be nice to explore difrent option on it ... The canadians variants always seem to be hardest to deal with

Well since your having a hard time rooting,You can always disable a lot of apps(bloatware) you don't use. This is what I did on my AT&T LG G4.When I get Android M on it then I may try to root it.

I think i will root it im just going to be carfull doong it cause i have seen my self having to plug in codes in my g2 in twrp to get downlod mod to work and restored haha that was fun also flashed some gapps on it that left permanent lines across the screen witch lg fixed on warenty im afraid if i mess up on this one their not going to be a easy fix but im willing to give her a go just need to find some canadian who have done it

Hi,
I saw that and just didn't feel right about using that method.
Instead, I rooted my H812 yesterday using this method: http://www.smartphoneclinics.com/root-lg-g4-h812-canadian-variant-unlock-bootloader/
Worked like a charm.
I also have windows 7 and the OP must have done something wrong. When you shift+right click in the folder with your package, you will open up a menu, and in that menu, about half way through, is open command prompt here.
Make sure you have the correct rooted image, they should all be available, no need to do it yourself with a Linux VM.
And when you finally run the command, make sure you change the name of the image file to the one you have.
You have to root, if only for the ad blocking. Too bad our bootloaders are not un-lockable.

I followed the same method and #1 ports bat gives me an error and #2 shift right click dose not give me the option of a comand window at all in the drop down i did not do annything difrent then these instuctions it will not work on the laptop i have for some reason

Hmm, that is odd, it's built into windows vista, 7 and on. Just to be sure, it's not a drop down from the top. Here is a shot I found (they right click on desktop - it looks different in a folder). Make sure no icons or files are selected, you have to right click on the background.

Have you tried on another machine? What was the port.bat error you got?

so ports bat worked it gave me com3 witch is one step now the link you gave me is 10b mine is the 10h version i have the 10h system img in the internal sd

and you where right about when i was trying to open the command window need to right click out of the file... but Im getting confused here cause im not sure if i got the right file for this technique or method ... i need the 10h version for mine its the only place i found it was in the link above .... help lol

The link I posted, if you click on the preparation files, the second one takes you to the xda forums, which in turn takes you to a file sharing host. Which provider is your phone originally from? If you have rogers, then you'll end up here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=36116 You can get there by following the links.
This link will give you the rooted image for one of the canadian variants.
At that point, you just follow the instructions.
just remember, if you follow the instructions, the final command dd if=/data/media/0/rootedsystem.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=548352 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0 needs to be changed to your image name, for rogers it's
system.rooted.rogers.10b.img.
I installed 7zip on my laptop so that I could extract the image, and then you just copy the image into your phone, in the root folder (the folder that has all your folders in it)
