LG G5 Overheats ?

Does anyone know if the LG G5 overheats like the G4 did ?

I really liked my G4 tried to repair it and added two copper heat sinks and even heated mother board with a soldering iron but it still heats up.
Was thinking maybe getting a used G5 possibly but do not want to if it has same overheating issues as the G4 had.

have not come across that issue here in AF. i do not have the phone. but do keep in mind that the G5 has been around since 2016.....that's a pretty long time for cell phones. most phones have an end of life(EOL) of about 3-4 years. this is when manufacturer's, carriers, and Google will stop support for the device. it is also a time where you will see the battery to start to deteriorate. battery life will not last as long, issues with charging will arise, and even the ports will start to wear down. also the os will be getting older and and apps will start to slow down and and some apps will cease to work any more on the device as devs will stop support for older devices on their apps.

.....so keep this in mind if you are considering getting a much older device as your daily driver.

G4 is getting too hot to hold. Ive read sometimes rooting or getting rid of bloatware can help but I cannot find a root software or video that throughly shows how to get rid of this bloatware either by rooting or using ADB commands.
Right now cannot even get command prompt to recognize that a phone is plugged in.
Weird thing is if I do not fast charge or use phone as a hotspot it does not seem to heat up too much. Only when put in sim card and hotspot and charge it does it seem to overheat.
Are you saying that a only 4g device might get phased out soon and no longer work at all?

Have you opened developers options and seen what is running?

And no, at least in the US, don't count on 4G going anywhere real quick.
5G still basically sucks, and it will be a long time (2+ years) before it is anywhere good enough to replace 4G.

But, YOUR device is from 2016.
That is like 80 years old in human years.

Have you replaced the battery yet?
If not, it is probably due, and getting one that isn't already aged (even just from sitting around in a warehouse) may be difficult.

You can try using ADB commands without root to stop bloatware and other system apps from running.

I cannot say what the results could be.

A friend has tried the above link, and really likes it.
It makes the ADB command thing very quick and simple.

i am saying that a device that is 4-5 years will start to break down with no plans to support it. it is called planned obsolescence. and the same will go for apps. developers will always update their apps to support newer os. and lose support for older os.

and getting rid of bloatware by rooting will only free up space. it might help a tad with battery, but it is not the solution you are looking for.

and have you tried different cables? are your drivers up to date? what commands have you tried? do you have adb setup correctly? are you opening the command prompt in the right directory? can you post the command output?

and yes charging will always heat up the phone. same as when using the phone as a hotspot.
