Help Lg mobile update will not update

Hi,

Recently i wanted to update my phone from android 1.6 to 2.1. My phone was recognized by lgmobileupdate but lgmobileupdate said that there was no update available. So i couldn't start updating my phone. And for the record my phone still has android 1.6. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

There is a post about the Android 2.1 update for the LG GT540 on LG's official blog.

It seems like there is a problem with the Android 2.1 update for users on certain mobile networks(O2 - Pay as you go, and Vodafone), so this might be why the LG Mobile Update software is saying that there isn't an update available for your phone.

LG update is crap. It didn't work for me. finally I flashed 2.1 ROM manually and it worked like charm.

Make sure the follow the instructions, you can upgrade within 10 mins cheers.
