Help LG Motion capped speed ?

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my recently bought lg motion and is scarying me. My phone's speed seems to be capped somehow, and I mean both 4G and WiFi. When I run a speed test with the speedtest.net app all I get is 3800Kb/s as a max, it never goes higher than that both in 4G and WiFi(I have a 10Mb/s internet at home meassuered by sppeedtest.net in my PC). Now the issue, I think, was the software update I applied short after I got the phone, since it poped in my screen and I didn't see a reason not to update. Before I applied the update, well as soon as I got the phone I ran an speed test to see how much I was getting and yeah, my first speed test was(4G) 8200Kb/s which was awsome. Then when I got home the same day I ran a speed test of my WiFi at home and bang, 11200Kb/s which is my 10Mb/s plan I have at home. So y question is: Why in the world am I just getting 3800Kb/s connected to my WiFi at home ? This is scary to say the least, and I'm kindly asking for anybody that can helped my with this or at least has seen or noticed something similar. Thanks.

Nop, It doesn't seem to be the update, my sister's phone has not get the update yet(she bought it the same day I did) and is also hitting the 3800Kb/s top limit. I also restarted to factory my phone and first thing I did was run some speed tests and the first one I did gave me my full wifi speed 11Mb/s but the the second one droped to the same 3800Kb/s. Well at this point I restarted the wifi and the first 2 tests gave me full speed, then the 3rd droped again and then restarting the wifi didn't do the trick after that. I also did other tests under different sircumstances, like torrent downloads, some DDL videos, drivers packs from nvidia page, etc. but same result. I'm guessing that Metro did this on purpose because I don't think it is an LG thing. I'm fairly new to phones technology, what I do is networks CCNA, CCNP, etc. so if anybody has any ideas to share, please do so, I would love to get that 8200Kb/s I got the first day I got my phone. Thanks in advance.

Yeah sounds like Metro is capping, might want to try going to an area where you know you're off a different tower and see if its still capped.

Well the thing is (if you read the entire thing) that this is also happening on WiFi, which has nothing to do with towers. Thanks for giving it a thought.

Since its only been happening for a while sometimes metro caps some towers to stabilize speeds
Well (as I explained before) WiFi has nothing to do with towers and that's my main focus here, since I can not do any reliable test on 4G because uncontrolable factors are present. Thanks for giving it a thought.

I don't know about WiFi since i don't have WiFi but i just did the update and my speeds have greatly decreased...

This was before the update:
Connection Type: Lte
Server: Los Angeles, CA
Download: 3.99 Mbps
Upload: 4.18 Mbps
Ping:153

This is now:
Connection Type: Lte
Server: Los Angeles, CA
Download: 0.07 Mbps
Upload: 0.80 Mbps
Ping: 122 ms

Both tests were done at the same location within minutes from each other... All bad "/

Any body wanna Wiegh in on this?

How could a such a fast speed greatly decrease? Now remember , I remember hearing that to keep metroPCS on a lower price than other networks , They had to make their speeds a bit slow , In my area , I get 0.81 on speed tests , Then when I am in Cambridge , MA , I get a good 3 MBPs.

That was for network stabilization when they were 1st initiating LTE, there's barely any towers that still have it

Oh. Then all I got is that your tower is being eaten by birds. :3 Sorry I can't hrlp but hope you see a increase soon , Cheers!
