I have searched and searched and can't seem to find any help with the paid hotspot. I decided to make this thread to share what I think I know about it and hopfully learn more. As I stated this is for the paid hot spot feature on Metro Pcs LG motion. First I was told GPS must be turned on. Twice I went to Metro to complain that hotspot not working and they got it to work. Leave store to activate else where with no luck. So I was able to determine that if I placed my phone in another room my pros can 8" tablet will connect and i can use play store web and games that require online access. I found this out due to needing to charge phone. But I dont think this would work for me when away from home. Please if any one knows more about using the built in hotspot that is paid let us all know. Why would the devices need to be so far apart to work? Also I tried fox fi with add on. Worked from another room but not in same room.
This is a stock unrooted lg motion tablet is rooted. And before I figured this info out had an unbranded mid tablet rooted that I couldn't get to connect.
Just to test I sat down next to phone turned on hotspot. Phone showed a device connected but tablet WiFi icon stayed grey. So I moved tablet to another room and when it showed only 2 bars WiFi icon went blue and I could access my game. If move tablet close to phone get weak or dropped connection. Now I am sitting just outside phones arm reach and connection has three bars and started out stable. Then started to drop in and out. Any thoughts on this?
