Root LG MS690 Android 2.2.2

Tried using the "Z4root" mentioned in other posts, also downloaded Titanium Backup. z4root force closes and TB says phone is not rooted. Is this a problem with the current firmware version of Android?

sure is..u have to downgrade to 2.2.1 first then use an app called gingerbreak..

Is there no easy way to root 2.2.2?
