lg nitro ice cream

The most persistent rumor of when the Spectrum will see an ICS update has been 2Q 2012. That gives LG to the end of June.

I hope they do so by then because I'm getting pretty bored with the same old Gingerbread. If they take too long, I may need to rush into an upgrade on Verizon while they still recognize their unlimited data plan.

I don't recall seeing the Nitro on the "official list" however
Because it's outdated by our phone.

Frankly, don't expect ANY devs to work on ICS for the Spectrum until we get the official release. ICS is a bitch to rom for all phones, except the Nexus (shocker, I know) and almost all phones require HALs to get the hardware to work with the software. Since an official release will contain those HALs and since the LG devs are recreational, don't expect them trying to program HALs when LG will do it for us.

You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't it be easy to port the P930 ICS leak over the the VS920? They're the same phone, except for the radio. Same processor, same camera, same screen, etc.

No, because the lib files for our phone are totally different than other lg phones. It's the reason why there are no ports/kangs. I tried a port of Miui and a compilation of cm7, but neither will load past a gray screen.

It's going to take some extremely knowledgeable devs to get non-stock roms working.

Dont lose hope guys, LG Ally was slated for 2.2 in Never, then December 2010, then told March 2011. She came as a surprise to me and a couple devs, in January 2011. I'm sure its coming.

Hopefully....
