Help lg optimus 540

How do I set up the phone for Wifi? I can see my router and have entered the password but I get no icon to say I'm connected.
I have disabled data download so as not to get charged when / if I get on the net.

Hi there...

Is your router DHCP enabled? If no you need to enter IP adress manually in phone settings: on the same place where you scan for networks press menu button, then advanced... after that you have to manage yourself.
