Help Lg optimus gt540 queries

Hello to all. I have the following queries:

1) In LG Optimus GT540, how to install the applications from the android market directly to the microsd card?

2) Is it possible to buy an application without using credit or debit card? Why there is not a system like the account balance will be deducted on downloading a paid application?

3) How to install LG PC Suite? Is it there in the microsd card? If yes, how to install that?

4) I can not find the phone icon under My Compuer subfolder of my PC even when the phone is connected to my PC? This has been happening from the very beginning. Should I install the USB driver from internet? No installation CD was given in the sales package?

Hi Neighbour! lolz :D

1. Yes, you can... You need to install Apps2SD... Read this thread (from post #14): http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus...-gt540-running-2-1-now-everyone-can-root.html

2. As far as I know, you need credit card...

3. The PC Suite is given inside the SD card LG provided... Folder name is sth like ''LGSuiteIV''.. Install it simply like you install softwares in your PC...

4. If you want your phone to show as Mass Storage, then you need to install USB Driver & Android Platform driver (You can find 'em inside the PC Suite folder) & nowadays Phones don't come with a CD (I think they should) Btw, I don't know about the PC Suite, because it doesn't open up in my PC.. I tried in 2 PC's and 2 lappy's but no luck... :'(

Hope I helped even a little... :D Valo thakben... ;)

Hi Nirob!!! First of all, let me thank you for your initiative to look into my queries and then provide the best of answers you can provide me with.

1) Well, from my side let me write that, I have already gone through the post entitled as "You need to install Apps2SD... Read this thread (from post #14): Easiest way to root GT540 running 2.1! Now EVERYONE can root!" From where to get that application? From the Android market or from the Google search based internet resources? Secondly, is there on other comparitively simpler way to achieve the above mentioned task? If yes, please let me know. I phoned LG customer helpline toll free number but they were of little help.

2) Buying a software using someone's credit/debit card, especially online, has become bit risky now-a-days. Reasons, I do presume, that everyone knows better. Afterall, who wants to be a prey to the voracious needs of the hackers? Even, the tele-executives from the house of LG recommrnded me not to go for those paid applications, where there are plenty of free applications to be downloaded from the Android market itself. Even, some paid applications are also available as free ones, for example, Talking Tom Cat, etc...

3) and 4) Let me try out....I will post my experiences over here....

Finally, the most important question, ARE YOU A BENGALEE?

Hi! ;)

1. In that post, go to the link I mentioned.. All the things you need is attached in the first post... It's the only way for 2.1... :( Keep in mind that, this process can brick your device OR Damage your SD Card if it's not done correctly... Or it can cause many probs in future.. And, don't call LG about modifying your Device, they won't help you with hacking/modifying...

2. Well, Google Checkout system is safe to use... It's safe to buy apps.. No chance of hackers in this process... and, if you don't like the app you can get refund.. And btw, they(LG) are right, why do you have to buy an app while there are many free alternative apps in the market OR why buy an app if you can just Google it and download?! ;)

3. & 4. Good Luck! :D

Aami bangalee?! Mone to hoi... ;) :D
