LG Optimus One (P500) Gingerbread?

In the U.K., only P500s from T-Mobile get the Gingerbread update. I'm on 3, so I was wondering if there is another way to get the update without using LGMobile Support Tool. Help is very appreciated if I can get the Gingerbread update.
