FIXED!!!!! 3/16/ 11. I tried all methods and can't seem to root my phone. I tried downgrading and that didn't work. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated. I have the zvd update

I tried that it says on lg updater to contact support do I have kb500 and lg updater and nothings working I'm new to this so I must be doing something wrong. And using sdk tools is way to difficult for me I tried o dpnt understand it may have to wait for a one click root idk

Let us know if it worked. I am trying to decide if it is worth messing with all this for my daughter's phone.

I did that it flashed but the screen went black. Tried to do the abd push but I was totally lost so I reflashed back to zvd.

I can confirm that the method mentioned above by forcing your phone back to V9 does in fact work. I just did it on two optimus last night.....odd thing though is i am now unable to update the PRL or the profile at all. I some sort of a DM authentication error..

P.S. I am trying to get a custom Rom on both of there phones along with a custom recovery. I myself have an Evo and it is sooooooo much easier flashing rom's....so I need a little help with the Optimus's

I got it figured out. I downgraded to VC9 like it says. But I used super one click to get root then pushed custom recovery using sdk and command prompt. Force flashed VZD. Works great!

OK I seem to have hit a wall. I downgraded to V9 (fresh out of the box phone with VC) but my screen goes blank (V9 drivers don't support new hardware apparently) So I guess my question is, how can I root the phone and flash either custom recovery or stock V9 if I can't see the screen? Do I do this through terminal and KP500? Steps? Get back to me, this black screen is pissing me off. Thanks.

Just Reloaded Update which gave me VD to get my screen back, Phone came stock with VC so I probably still have the VC Recovery. Just force flashed VC, waiting on instructions so I can downgrade back to V9 so load the V9 recovery while in back screen.

P.S. Everything works while in black screen, I can even unlock the phone, dial ect.. just can't see what's going on..

So bottom line, when I force flash to V9 how do I flash the V9 recovery so I can root so I can force flash the VC/VD update to get my sceen back?

What I did was use kp500 force flashed zv9. Then used super oneclick to get temp root. Used the guides to flash custom recovery and root. Once I did that I closed out of super one click the phone was rooted. Then used kp500 to force flash zvd and kept root.

I read somewhere about new screens that wont work with v9 so you might have to root the hard way. :(

I have the new lcd drivers on mine if you ran get the custom recovery xionia 1.2518.6 is what I'm running it takes care of the lcd problem and should beable to run zv9 with no problems. After I did the custom recovery zv9 worked on my phone.
Props to the dev of the custom recovery.
Edit. Goin to unroot my test phone to make sure this will work. Will post the steps I took when I'm done.

ok here it goes. follow the posts to download sdk tools. download superone click. follow the step to rooting zvc or zvd. once reverted to zv9, open superoneclick to get temp root. open sdk tool and cmd prompt. follow directions on installing custom recovery.donot use reboot skip that and proced to the su install. once installed reboot. open kp500 force flash zvd. u should have root afterwards. use lg optimus s control center click on boot in to recovery. use zefies overclock kernel v013and install in recovery. reboot zv9 will run on the new screen drivers.then force flash with kp500 to vcd
