Help LG Optimus update?

My phone's notification area indicates there is an update available from Virgin. I've had this phone about a week. Everything is working great so I'm a little leery about installing an update. If it's not broke......etc. Is this an update we're all getting and if so, did anyone give it the go ahead? Anyone have any horror stories about installing VMO updates in the past?
