One ICS peeve (for now) is that, whenever I plug something into the headphone jack, it automatically turns down the volume ("to protect my hearing").
First of all, Google gets the "One-Finger-Salute" for trying to be my f-ing nanny! I'm an adult for f-sake (pushing 50 at that!)! I think I can figure out how to turn the volume down on my own - if I want.
Anyway, this really pisses me off because 9 out of 10 times, I'm plugging it into my car radio and the audio output from the Spectrum is weak, even at full volume, in comparison to the radio & cd inputs.
I have not noticed the problem with volume going down. I would imagine it to be a feature.
One thing FWIW: I use MixZing Basic to listen to music and watch videos. There is an equalizer built into it, and it does work. You can emphasize the various channels, not just attenuate.
So you can get an eq app to work? I tried a few and keep getting errors that the rom doesn't support an eq. I can only seem to use eqsif they're built into a player like Sense or Winamp... Standalone won't work.I use Subsonic for the same reason. The EQ helps (at least a bit). I've encountered the volume protection message. Not sure how to fix it. Might dig into a few jars and apks and see what's what.

Here's a new one. I grabbed my phone while it was connected to the charger this morning, to reply to a text. Heck no. The "keyboard" would not cooperate. I've never noticed this before....not that I type many texts while the charger is plugged in, but it was certainly not working properly.
Is that with the stock keyboard or an add on ? I've texted a lot while charging with no problems, using SwiftKey 3.
Same here, but I've also had that issue with the swype keyboard as well.On another note, I have had an issue with LG keyboard but in only one situation. When a text pops up, I can reply and type fine up til the end of the of 160 count. after that it will not type. If I open up into the message dialog, it works fine. It only does that when it's the popup. Doesn't matter if on the charger or not, the problem is persistent regardless.
This may or may not be relevant but I have my spectrum running a custom Rom and it just got the push for ice cream sandwich..do I have to UN root to get the update or will it still work
