LG Spectrum ICS Update Bugs/Issues Thread

just wanted to give an update to an earlier post i made in this thread. i had been having reboot issues and inquired a few times about it. it was suggested to me to format my sd card and if needed to get a new one and/or a new sim card. thanks for the help from those who answered. formatting the card was as far as i got and it seems to have solved my problem. the phone has only done it once or twice since and its been about a week. just thought this could help someone else who may have missed this info like i did. you guys are always patient with the people who are sincerely trying to learn and its appreciated.

So my spectrum runs broken out version 2.0 alerts me of the update allows the download and then doesn't allow me to apply the update Nd when I do the update check it,says no network found

ghavas09! please don't take the update while on any custom rom! You must return your phone to full stock first! you must be on the stock rom and stock recovery!

Have you been following the threads at all!?! This has been covered extensively!

Never had this happen before, but my Spectrum completely locked up yesterday. I ended up pulling the battery to get it to reboot.

No I barely go on but haven't taken the update yet...I will look for stock Roms to get back to and then take the update thanks for telling me this before I did take the update

There's an entire thread about this process in the root section. There is even a completely stock v6 rom you can flash along with the stock recovery restorer.

I'm not taking the update right now but I don't really know how to do all that...I know about flashing Roms but that's about it and lucky for me I am not using the spectrum as my phone...I have the galaxy nexus running jelly bean but I want to learn and my brother may end up taking the spectrum at some point

There are flashable zips of the stock rom and recovery located in the all things root section. If you follow the guide, you can't go wrong.

Had my first random reboot two days ago, late. I was headed to bed and saw the boot animation going. The phone was plugged in to the wall at the time, charging (slow, usb bullshit).

Then last night I plugged my phone up, when I woke up it was powered off, when I powered it on, the battery was at 17% although it had been plugged in for 10 hours. It turned on with out an issue.

My home screen replacement app had an option to change the function of the home button. If I install it, I lose my hone button completely. A restore and I did not install my hone screen replacement app and have not had an issue since. I was using zeam launcher, which says they've fixed some issues with ICS on their most recent update, so who knows...

I have full home button functionality using Nova. I am also not unlocked either.

If I am using a different rom other than stock. If phone reboots I loose home button. I am not sure if it's from a certain app I restored or what. Havnt figured out what one yet.

My phone has no bluetooth at all now, I can't sync with my ford truck. I've tried everything and nothing works. Battery life is horrendous, I have apps that I have to force stop that i've never seen before. Phone does not vibrate at all even if put into vibrate only also doesn't vibrate with ringtone even though it says its on.

What can I do to get rid of these apps that have appeared with the upgrade? I want to uninstall all this crap i dont use or need like tunewiki, espn, nfl, slacker radio, etc.

And what can I do to get the bluetooth to work with my truck again?

Did you unlock the bootloader? If you did, then that is why you have no Bluetooth. You'll have to flash the OS with the .cab method.

i have no clue if i unlocked it. I was driving with my wife, message came thru on phone to upgrade, i told her to click yes and then it did it. I've not touched anything other then the settings i've touched in the past before this upgrade.

How do i flash the os with that .cab method?

You may need to do a factory data reset. It is recommended before and after the ICS update. You can try a couple power offs and back on, but more than likely won't help.

that hasn't done anything, powering off and taking the battery out. If I do the factory reset, do i lose all the pics and vids i have on the camera? apps i've downloaded?

Pics and videos will be saved on your sd card. Apps will be lost, I may be wrong but I think Google keeps track of paid apps though . Or you can root and use an app like My Backup Root or Rom Toolbox to back up your apps and data. Then reroot after the FDR and restore apps.

i guess ill make a list of the apps i've downloaded. Its not alot but a few i use everyday. I just hope that facebook app doesn't come back. dam thing was killing my battery.

and does anyone know how to remove the apps that are preloaded?

With ICS you can disable most of them without being rooted. Just go to app manager, select the app you don't want, and disable will be the top right option.
