LG Volt Update Today on Virgin

I have a plain old non-rooted Volt on Virgin but I have not gotten any update and am still at ZV5! Does anyone know if they are phasing this update in or are only some units getting it while others aren't.

I seen it in notifications, ended up flashing like 5 different custom ROMs instead. Im probably going back to stock V5 rooted.
 
I got an update today, swear it said V7, phone still says V5, I still have root access also????????????
 
I got a notification at around 11:00 AM. Like a fool I updated and lost ROOT. Had to wait until I got home to Re-ROOT the phone. Software version on mine says ZV6, LS740ZV6.
 
No need to bother with the update just for stagefright fix. Just turn off auto retrieve of attachments that way you only get what you want from people you know.
 
I finally got the update to ZV6 today. It updated without incident and everything seems to be working.

Anyone know what the changes are from ZV5 to ZV6?

Seems mainly the stagefright vulnerability is the purpose of the update. That fixes an issue where someone could send malicious code,etc to your device simply by you just viewing a mms message they have sent. Users also have the ability to just turn off auto download of attachments in their messages. If you do not "view" the attachment. It has no effect. I have decided that turning off auto download was ok for me as a rooted user versus all the current downsides to updating for the fix. I can simply filter out anything that comes from anyone I do not know.

I turned off auto retrieve of attachments. Now how do I get rid of the notification "couldn't download system update" "not enough space available ...".
I don't know why I get this because I have more than enough space available.
 
I figured out the problem, if there is one?

The update does not work for me, about 10 times ive let it "install and update" but it does not happen, next day it will say update avi....

no clue what that is all about??? tired of it buggin me to update.
 
If you deleted system apps or on a custom ROM (deodexed stock or custom) the update will not work. The update is pure crap. The only thing good is the stagefright fix, which @Curtis1973 stated in post 16 how to overcome. It doesn't make the phone run any better, if anything it screws a couple of things up. There going to have to release another update to fix the zv6 update. Its not just this device, it seems to be most LGs getting the zv6 update.

Uncheck notifications for Google Play Services.

edit- in short, i need a flashable zip of the stock framework jars and odexes with updater script fixing permissions on files flashed to /system/framework
