Help LG Vortex - Not getting Notification for Voicemail

my friend has the lg vortex and is not getting any notification for voicemails. She gets the missed call notification, text messaging, email, and everything else. but never gets a notification for the voice mail.

She is on andriod 2.2.1 not rooted or anything

i have looked through the text messaging settings, phone settings, call settings, sound settings. i can't think of anywhere else to look.

if there is an app that will do this, that works
