Help LG vortex tethering problems...help

ok 2 of my friends have a LG Vortex phones...both are on Verizon. I have for the life of me not been able to get the tethering to work at all. I have tried PDAnet which installs fine on both phones, and work fine. it's the computer thats not working correctly. I have trie to install it on both windows vista and also windows 7. I cannot get past where it wants to verify that the driver has been successfully installed. HELP lol

P.S. I have also used the LG update ulility to manually install the USB drivers but still a no go.

Well we tried that....same problem. It would connect to the phone but couldn't get the modem part to work. I was able to figure it out though. I had to install my phones drivers which is the HTC Evo, that way I could actually install PDAnet and get back the forced driver verification part, then had to download the drivers for the vortex on both computers then it was all ready to go. So i guess you could say I had to go backwards to fix that one.

Have you installed the drivers while in safe mode? Something I have had to do before on vista machines... It's the only way you can get non verified drivers to install.

I'm looking to get tethering working for my mom on her laptop once her phone comes in... Just wondering how you've made out.
