This goes out to Devs with more knowledge and experience. For the most part why reworking Vendor / Device files for CM7 now mainly using files from Sharp 2.3.5 I have come to expect that if I use Hex-ray to determine what other files are needed by a lib I'm looking to use and find both “libc.so” & “libm.so” on the dependency list that I will not be able to use this file. They can be listed separately like say for example I run a lib in hex-ray and see just “libc.so” or “libm.so” as a dependency or needed file I can most likely use the file. On the other hand if both are listed and I use the file I can expect nothing but the M logo until pushing back the original or a compatible file from another Stock Variants Rommostly the other Gingerbread Roms as most Variants outside of Sharp 2.3.5 and Stock Froyo do not have “libm.so” or other files along those lines like “libuim.so”, just Sharp 2.3.5. I understand so little about why this is at this point its actually difficult formulating an actual question but for the most part does anyone understand why this is? Think in this case Google research may have left me more confused. Guessing at this point it is Kernel related because this also holds true with Andro-id from what I understand uses a Sharp 2.3.5 based Kernel and are practically the same Rom. I could be 100% off base on this but seems to be a common denominator. I have tried copying "libm.so" and the Rom will not boot at all. Not even after removing the file and rebooting. Anyhow based on the amount of time I have spent with these files I would very much like to understand as much as I can. I also just have this weird gut feeling that understanding what is going on here could open all kinds of new doors.
I don't know if this will help at all but these are some of the files from Andro\Sharp that share both and are not compatible. They will work in CM7 with the same files from all the other Stock Gingerbread Variants but they again do not have the libm.so.
libcamera.so
libbinder.so
libcutils.so
libEGL.so
libGLESv1_CM.so
libGLESv2.so
libjpeg.so
libOpenSLES.so
libETC1.so
List will grow in a bit but have to run out a sec.
