Liberals: Paying Taxes in America is VOLUNTARY

and for every thig they fund you have george sors funding the other side

No, Soros doesn't have that much money. I sure wish he did ...

The point of the post was that most tea-baggers are utterly ignorant of the fact that they are being led, manipulated and milked by Washington insiders and big business, and of course Palin (whose spends their donations - tax free - on her own personal luxury, self-promotion and seemingly permanent vacation).

By the way, thanks for the nice link to the historical revisionist, racist, homophobic, xenophobic, misanthrope and ideologue David Horowitz.

Paying taxes is voluntary. You have a choice whether to do it or accept the consequences.

Just because something is voluntary doesn't mean there aren't consequences for your choices.

Once again, don't confuse the act of paying with the ability to change the system.

...

In a voluntary tax, you have 100% control, by the way of elected officials on what is taxed, how much is taxed, and what it goes to. For example, tax payer money can not be used for abortions or new stem cells. In a involuntary system, that is impossible.

We all agreed to pay taxes, that was voluntary. You now paying the taxes is not. You have to hold up the end of your contract, but with the knowledge you can change the contract, by the ballot.

So are you saying that NOT KILLING SOMEONE is voluntary because we COULD change the law by way of the ballot .... because that is what it sounds like you are saying.

If you were to argue that paying taxes is voluntary because you could get to a point in life where you have NO INCOME (no job, keep your money in a jar), then i would agree. It is an INCOME tax, not a wealth tax...

Or if you were to argue that taxes are voluntary because you could move out of the country .. i would agree.

Heck, you could choose to go to jail ... so taxes are voluntary in that regard.

But to argue that taxes are voluntary because you could conceivable change the law ... well, that just doesn't hold much water to me.

That is a completely bogus argument. That's like claiming killing someone is voluntary or that speeding is voluntary. I'm free to do either, there are just consequences.

Killing someone and speeding are voluntary acts. No one forces you to speed or commit murder. It might not be voluntary the other way around if you wish to speed or commit murder, but are barred from exercising your free will by threat of legal punishment.

actually its closer to $15B now.....but after the first billion whose really counting

pretty hard to take anything a fella says seriously when he makes statements like this.......... at least a slight knowledge of whats going on is helpful in discussions

Are you capable of making a single post without making a personal attack? The sad truth is you can't take seriously anyone who disagrees with you.

And since you completely missed the point:

Soros' spending on progressive causes helps balance corporate and conservative spending on regressive causes. Soros's spending is quite small compared to the amount of money spent by conservative groups.

As a single counterpoint to Soros, the Koch brothers are listed by Forbes as being worth $21.5 billion each. You know what they spend their money on? Getting legislation passed that makes them more money and bogus manipulative political campaigns (the tea party) designed to unseat legislators that fight the Koch agenda.

You are barred from not paying taxes by the threat of legal punishment. Paying taxes IS NOT voluntary any more than paying a traffic ticket is voluntary. Sure I can choose not to pay my taxes or pay my traffic ticket. They'll take me to jail for making that choice. It's not voluntary.

That's exactly what I just said. Paying taxes isn't voluntary. In a true voluntary system, you pay taxes because you want to, not because you are required to. You can even state where you want you tax dollars spent.
