Root Liberty ROM Installation help

yeah to fix this, go to liberty toolbox (donate)

go to rom manager

select i think all(im at work and no service on my x)
download rom and look for force close fix
you may have to select every different one to find the force close fix because i cannot remember where it is exactly :(

but the fix is there.
Cool, fixed it! One last thing... (haha) in trying to access Spare Parts or Dev Tools in the Liberty Settings menu, I get this message:
Code:
The application Liberty Toolbox (process com.jrummy.liberty.toolboxpro) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

hrm,

my spare parts works, however i reflashed 2.0 a day or so ago, and forgot to update the fc fix, it may be an issue with the rom itself that is having the issues, try redownloading spare parts from the market

no thats not it, well what you can do, is re-run the fix, and if it doesnt work, if you want to do this, reinstall liberty, wipe data and cache

or
go to droidforums under the liberty-dx rom section under 2.0 issues, state your issue and check back there within or in an hour

Ok, I installed the patch and my camera stopped working. Specifically it snaps the photo by either I get a black screen or dark gray.

Any ideas?

rom manager has a nice system, where you can name your backups (preferred)

or you can use droid x bootstrapper, it has the same feature, its on the main list in the Reboot Recovery option

reinstall the camera app from the toolbox, that should fix it

There isn't an option to do that or I am not seeing it. The only option is to install the Blur Camera or Stock Camera add-ons. I tried both and the camera does the same. It sees, but when it attempts to capture I get a black or gray solid screen capture.

I tried rebooting, battery pulls, and reinstalling the theme altogether. Now the camera app is glitching and freezing.

Otherwise the phone works fine. If there is no fix I need to try another ROM because I actually use my camera quite often.

Any step by step fix you got in mind?

every phone gets bugs in its own way, yours is affected by the camera, i suggest reinstalling a clean 2.0.1 rom, wipe data and cache, and try again.

i had multiple issues with liberty 1.0 and 1.5, this is the first liberty rom i havent had an issue with yet.

I was thinking that. Can I do that from the Liberty Toolbox app? Just select wipe data and cache - which I didn't do the last time per the instructions.

Apparently this is a Liberty 2.0 glitch with the patch. I did a fresh install, wiped and still the camera is doing the same. Additionally now I have no video camera application.

Contacted a friend whose DX had similar camera glitching. He SBF'ed and the camera function is back.

Any chance Liberty is working on a patch for this design flaw?

well apparently jrummy made a mistake with the patch, it has something to do with the X and the droid 2

its possible you may have downloaded the droid 2 patch? it might not be, redownload the whole 2.0.1 rom, wipe data and cache, if sbfng fixes your issue go for it, and retry liberty 2.0.1 and see if the camera bug comes back. i just think your phone developed the bug, mine developed certain bugs in liberty 1.0 and 1.5 so i know its possible, this is the only version of liberty that i havent had an issue yet
