Root Liberty v.09 stuck with old market

unicoder

Newbie
Alright, I sbf'd my phone to .602 then loaded up Liberty v.09. Everything works great EXCEPT my phone is still using the old market. After a search I found that people were just downloadg and installing market 3.1.3 or market 3.1.5

However when I try to install either it just errors and says "Application Not Installed" BUT It does fine up to that point, it even notifies me that when I install that it is going to replace the current market.

Anyone have an idea what I need to do to get it to update??

Thanks in Advance!!

Do you have Root Explorer? If so, you will need to do it manually.

Rename the current vending.apk to vending.bak or something.

Rename the new market to vending.apk and set the permissions to.

Owner: Read Write
Group: Read
Others: Read

Reboot and enjoy the new android market.

Cheers.

If you don't know, vending.apk is located in system\app

Cheers!

*EDIT* I got root explorer 2.6 and i still dont know how to change permissions with it
i can remount the root folder to r/w but not the system/app folder

Yes, but it just doesn't work. I downloaded Super Manager as it auto mounts r/w and about to reboot my phone right now ill let you know

*EDIT* Yep, worked flawless thanks for the help bro!
