Light leakage???

Anybody get light leakage on the new batch of phones? I have it slightly under search button and looks like it may be starting under home button. Its not a big deal and is just a spec right now but was wondering if anybody had issues with new batch of phones

I just picked up my phone from a supposedly "new" batch last Wednesday. The new phone doesn't have any sort of "give" in the screen like my last one, but it has a ring of light all the way around it. The top is the only part of the screen that doesn't have any leakage. It's up both sides and all the way across the bottom. I took it back to Sprint the day after I picked it up. The technician said it was the worst he had seen so far and ordered me another one. I think if the third one is the same way, I'm just going to slap a cover on it and live with it. I like the phone way too much to give it up now.

Damn that sucks I have mine rooted and love everything about the phone would hate to have to return it. I also got mine last wednesday its no big deal right now but it is definitely there and I'm scared it will only get worse

It's not that big of a deal. The store is literally 10 mins down the road. I just hate having to set it all up again. Getting icons where I want them, tones set, apps placed. I'm going out of town this week though. They told me they'd hold it for me when it came in, but things happen. Our store still has a pre order list.

that sucks... to be honest, i don't think this will ever get fixed. This is just how they designed their recent devices. New ones may look like they're good, but eventually I think it will show up with regular use. I got mine on launch and it didnt have the leak, but now I see it in certain spots. I can live with it as long as the screen doesn't start popping out like some people have reported....

The droid incredible is put together the same way and has the same issue (i have one as well), but it wasn't addressed on sites like the EVO. Fits solidly, but definite light leakage.

i got mine in the latest batch sent from sprint. there is light leakage from all 4 buttons. i've already accepted it as part of the phone. doesn't bother me

I have had my phone since launch day and i have had light leakage under the home and search buttons, but it has not effected anything.. no dust and no further separation..

and the HTC build quality keeps on going...yay. All 3 EVO's I've been through had light leakage to some degree...

I can live with the leakage under the buttons. That's a non issue. ANY light bleeding onto the display from that area IS a problem and should be addressed. So far, my second EVO is perfect.

As I have mentioned elsewhere, it was the light bleeding onto the screen that made me jump to exchange on day 30 yesterday.

Wow, the my largest critic (by far) to my posts on HTC's poor build quality exchanged his phone too...what a shock.

Your a troll, there is a difference. I have never had a problem with anyone who has issues, just folks who post lies on the forum and are trying to be disruptive.

Like you. ;-)

One lie is one too many.

And just a follow-up. Am I spewing temper tantrums because my launch day phone had issues?? Of couse not!!

I am too freakin old, have had launch issues before, just part of the terratory. ANY one who buys a brand new phone, especially a first ever in it's class, and then throws temper tantrums cause it ain't perfect is a bit pathetic. Don't want issues, always wait 4 - 6 months before buying it.

I had issues, waited to see deterioration, made a decision, and dealt with it.

No crying, we ARE different.

My phone is 4 days old and on my 3rd replacement. This phone has no light leakage and is perfect! the only thing I noticed is my other 0002 evos 4g signal was a lot stronger than my new 0003 Epson one. But I don't care as long as it works here and there!

I got light leakage and it sucks, but its the only issue i have had with my EVO, i love my EVO so much I decided to just live with it, I didnt wanna risk getting another EVO with other problems, or the worser LCD they are using now that everyone keeps talking about

Yes, until the light starts to bleed onto the screen. The case doesn't help that. ONLY reason I am exchanging.

You crack me up sometimes, just like how you keep it real.my girlfriend have the EVO and she has no clue on the defects unless i tell her about it her biggest complaint was the battery. Now the only issue i found was the light leakage and we just got it exchange to a version3 right before the 30 day was up and this phone is all good.
