Help Lingering Gps icon

I have the gps icon on my notification bar that won't go away, I assume this isn't normal

I've already tried battery pull, toggled all possible icons relating to gps.
I'm pretty stuck at the moment. Any help is appreciated
 
What version of the phone do you have? International, att, sprint?

I have the Tmo version, when we pull the spen out we are supposed to see a pen icon on the notification bar. On mine, its STOPPED showing when the pen is removed. I have read that a factory reset should slove my problem and you may have to do a factory reset to solve yours. I dont feel like doing that now until I figure out a solid way to backup my phone.
 
Verizon actually, and I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that but I can't find another solution.

This may be a dumb question but have you tried going through the s pen settings I know it has a low battery feature where it won't recognize it being pulled from the phone.

No, its not a dumb question. Im not having an issue with the phone recognizing the pen being removed from the phone. In fact, I get my snote pop whenever I do so along with the little ringer. I just dont get the pen icon on the notice bar any longer. Its not a huge deal but I would like it to work purely for coolness factor.

Best time to do a factory reset is when the phone is fresh out rhe box like yours before you install a bunch of stuff unless you've already done so. Report back your findings

I've never had the S-Pen icon in my notification bar and I factory reset tonight and it still didn't appear..... Although that's not the reason I factory reset.

I do get the alert when I walk away and forget to put the S-Pen back in the phone. That's more important to me than an icon. I know the pen is out; it's usually in my hand.

I think it is normal as mine has it also. Mine is also showing the blue tooth icon even though I am not using. I think is always there and then turns a diiferent color when being used?

Update:it does seem to be normal to be there and no factory reset is needed. If you go into settings/location services and turn off VZW location services the "signal" lines next to the icon go away so it's not frozen. Just as I stated above, I think it is suppose to always be there. Hope this helps to ease your concerns.
 
I've toggled everything i can think of, and i thought it was normal until i saw other people's homescreen on this forum. Also, mine doesn't show a Bluetooth unless I'm using it. Thank you guys in advance by the way

Nope mine doesn't show the Bluetooth icon at all. I do have the lingering GPS icon though.
