Root [Link] Radios for S-off

thank you for the feedback, 808 is always my second choice 1.09 never worked good for me but maybe it just depends on your area have you tried any on wimax? :D

Anytime.

While I do have WiMax in nyc, i've not tested the WiMax radios extensively to spot a difference. I currently use the WiMax radio packaged with the 0808.

Yea, I tried 61009. It seems to be about the same with 60690 (which is the PRL from Leslie Ann's "Fix everything by turning your phone into an EVO 3D" thread). I flashed the radio from that thread too but I find myself lacking signal strength and data sometimes even though I'm right in the center of Atlanta!
have you tried any of the radios on my post? try putting your phone on a flat surface out of your hand, i have noticed sometimes that my signal drops when im holding it tightly.

i have yet to try 4g on my phone :o hopefully this weekend when i go to columbus i will be able to test it out, i remember on my evo design my 4g signal was terrible so i will see how this compares

now i did the s-off with prl and all that using harmonia and mignight roms but it seems like my signal doesn't change much even with sprints stuff instead of virgin mobile. My mom has boost mobile and she has a better signal and 3g? why is that if theyre running off the same network. Plus i'm constantly roaming now

which radio are you using? and its not a network problem its more of a phone problem, the evo V just has signal issues with it which makes the signal seem weaker than say an lg Marquee on boost

Can I flash these radios while I'm on JuopunutBear Hboot 1.57.5757? I was on Eng 1.04, but I switched to Jbear hboot because I wanted to run JMZ's new kernel. The OP just says you SHOULD be on 1.04, but I'm hoping there's some wiggle room there.

I don't know how this is possible Virgin Mobile doesn't allow roaming.
your correct it is virtually impossible sometimes your radio messes up and it says your roaming when your really not, kind of like if you flash a wrong prl or something, usually you just have to reflash your radio or try a different one.

I tried installing this using ext 4 recovery and got a critical error message, I think I'm not using the original hboot, (probably using JuopunutBear) is there a way to go back to the original hboot so I can install the 0.97.10.0530 radio? Thanks.

You don't flash the radios in 4ext recovery. And you don't use the original hboot to flash radios.

I tried all the radios, 808 was the only one that stood out. I live in a low service area and 808 blew the data speed of the other radios away when testing with the Speedtest.net app (4XX with other radios, 1k+ with 808), however the single strength seems to refresh quicker than the other radios, not a big deal.

yes 808 has great speeds i recommend to most people .530 or .808 some people have better service with .530 and some prefer .808, im currently running .808

I have been flashing between the .530 and .0808 radios. I am still undecided and to which one works for me better here. What I was wondering if, do I need to flash a 4G Radio along with this or is it included in the .530 and .0808 radios. If I have to flash a 4 G radio seperately, where would I find that at and is there different 4G radios each for the different 3G radios or does ine 4G radio work for all of them?? Also, do I flash it the same way as I did the 3G radio then?
Thanks for the feedback in answering some of my questions.

they are both good radios .808 is slightly newer if you find them the same go with .808 it may have better data speeds, but the 4g radio is on the original thread you flash it seperate from the 3g radio i flashed the .808 radio and the 4g radio from the .530 release since .808 did not have one released with it, but to fully answer your question they are 2 totally different things and they do not affect one another very much.

Do you know where I can get the 4Gradio. I looked in the radio threads and all I see is the 3G radios. I also looked in the xda thread and the same thing, just the 3G radios.

it's there its under Wimax: not all the radios have it but its a 5 digit number under the 3g radio that it came with.
Question.....
If i flash a radio will it effect the 4g also?
No only if you flash the seperate wiMax radio it will.

I am on ICS 4.0.3 rom. Can I use any of the radios listed on the first post. From what I understand, some radios are for a specific rom version. This is a little confusing for me.

Also, how do I do a MD5sum check. I downloaded md5checker on my pc but it says to verify against the orignal, where do I find the orignal?? Example, one of the radio zips. I have never done this before so if someone could offer some help, that would be greatly appreciated.

yes you can use any radio as long as your s-off, for md5 i can't tell you much about that but i never check md5 and i dont have any problems so i would not worry about it:D

Can I flash the radio you recommended by just moving it to the root of the SD card and then go into bootloader....same way they show in the thread "fix everything by turning your phone into evo 3d"

yes, when you open the bootloader it will automatically load up and ask you if you want to update.

Hey gamikzone you should update the op! You're not using the .530 radio anymore you're using the .808 radio now :p
