Root Link2SD- free version not a magic cure all

I recently got a larger SD card, so I decided to try out l2sd. I set up my card, and began moving everything I had previously moved to SD through the native app manager to the l2sd partition, along with everything it would let me link in the free version for those apps. Everything transferred smoothly, and I'm not seeing any performance difference, but after all is said and done, I've only got about 200MB more than I did before I started. And I've essentially lost 1GB of SD card space as I'm only using 1GB if the 2GB partition.

Granted, I haven't moved anything that I hadn't been able to move before, but since the majority of apps let you move them to the SD card anyway, unless you pay for the premium l2sd to be able to move internal data as well, it may not be worth the effort.

Not trashing the app at all, it certainly has its benefits and works well. I'm just saying for a typical user, it may not be worth it. I do like the ability to reintegrate system app updates into the system easily.

Just wanted to post my experience for anyone looking to find out info before trying it out for themselves.

I bought this app a while ago, I think it's like a buck or two. Works well and I feel it's really worth the money. Also the free version does things that other apps make you pay to do, like freezing apps, for example, even system apps if you have root. It's a very cool tool. One thing I learned however is that even with an emulated SD CARD built into the device, if you have an external SD CARD with two partitions, L2SD is able to move apps to the first partition on the SD CARD. This solves the issue of mot being able to REALLY move apps to the EXTERNAL SD CARD and thus filling up space on your device. - if that makes sense. Previously I was NOT aware of this, so I purchased FOLDER MOUNT in order to link folders to the external SD CARD, KIND OF like something link2SD does, but not as smoothly. In any event, I should have just made a second partition on my SD CARD in my tablet and used l2sd.

I agree that it is a very useful utilitarian app in general. I was just pointing out that without paying for it, it may not be that beneficial for saving internal space. I think I am going to go ahead and buy the full version though, so yeah.

I have saved tons on the free version
