Root Link2sd tutorial for a fresh wipe

link2sd updated today and I had a nerdgasm. New feature where it scans your partition for apps and relinks them. It's designed specifically for rom changes and updates. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The way I believe it should work is, you do the update process, not doing a full wipe, just wipe cache and dalvik them flash the update. Then reboot, all your linked apps would be gone. Link2sd wasn't linked so it should still be there. Next you run link2sd then select scan and relink, it should relink all your apps and since you didn't touch the partition you shouldn't have to recreate your mount scripts. This is all in theory as I haven't tried it yet, but this will allow for ease of updating and flashing new stuff which is awesome. :D

Actually the way it should work is with full wipe except sd-ext. After ROM update it scans sd-ext and adds links to all apps in sd-ext to /data/app.

The way you described is the same old way with no relinking needed b/c the links are already in /data/app.

Just confirmed that this way is correct and VERY awesome. I just used the "Prep for new rom" zip to wipe everything except my Link2sd partition, then I loaded Quattrimus beta and gapps. Then I installed link2sd and clicked "relink all application files" It had me reboot and then took forever to boot up but now it is loading all of my apps :)

That is impossibly better

Thanks so much for all you guys' help

EDIT: Upon reboot had to clear cache, but all seems good so far

Quatrimus has its own 2ext scrip so using link may cause you issues.
