when I first got my HTC Desire S I synced twitter to my contacts and everyone that I was following on twitter became a contact, is there a way to un sync all of the ones that I don't want on my contacts?

Not sure about your Twitter sync questions (don't really use Twitter at the moment), but perhaps someone in your device's home area, HTC Desire S - Android Forums, or in the Android Applications - Android Forums might have an idea.

Go to your contact list. Tap menu, choose accounts. Unbox sync contacts in your Twitter account there.
