Root LiquidSmooth Problems

Okay I am a NUBE so maybe I did something wrong, but I really dont think that I did, but here we go.

I have a Samsung i727 Skyrocket that had ICS preloaded when I bought it. The phone was AT&T unlocked.

I've rooted before without too much trouble, LG ESTEEM on Metro, so I thought this should be a piece of cake.

The rooting was simple enough. But then I installed LiquidSmooth Jelly Bean Beta 2 for the i727. It seemed to install easily. No issues at all during the install, however when it came time to reboot, I was stuck in the opening LiquidSmooth bootup screen for 20 minutes before I finally pulled the battery.

I recall reading to leave the phone alone for 10 minutes after installing the mod, but over 20? Something went really wrong. I am guessing the only thing that I can do is reload to stock and try again, or is there something you guys can advise that will get me out of the bootscreen?

ALSO ....

What is a clean and dirty upgrade? I read that in another LiquidSmooth thread for a Verizon S2 but had no idea what the heck they were talking about.

Thanks yall.
paul

What is your procedure for installing?
What are you wiping?
Did you check the md5 to verify a good download?

Clean- full wipe
Dirty- cache wipe only.

Don't do a dirty unless your flashing an updated ROM on top of the same ROM

I used the CWP method to install Jelly Bean and the install was clean (thanks for the clarification btw).

I cant get the phone past the LiquidSmooth screen. I am sure that I can restore with Oden, but man starting over is a pain.

FIXED IT ... Don't Root the phone and it installed like a dream. Only glitch so far was that the wallpaper launcher fails.
