do you think after the update i cant root & remove any of them? should i root it now & remove some of these useless apk before the update comes? the reason i have unrooted cause Metro told me that i must bring my phone to there store & they would do the update themselves.

Nobody know if the new update will remove rooting capability. Why do you have to update your phone on the Metro store? You can do it OTA or via LG updater in your PC.
 
Oh you can delete Facebook. I use it and when i made the list I just went thru my system>app drawer to see what ones I renamed to uninstall.

Oh and Mymetro is safe to remove. Ill add that too the list.

dumb question but how are you removing these apps? through the phone or pc?
 
It's good to note it is safe to remove Youtube if you're okay with navigating it on your browser (IE: Opera Mini, MetroWEB) sometimes you get errors but a second tap will usually go through. If you use Youtube a lot I wouldn't suggest this though.

What kind of update? I just got the phone a couple of days ago...
are you saying like Ice Cream Sandwich update (hopefully metro will get it)
or do you mean like to keep on fixing the bugs in the phone?

if you do not use Facebook, Loopt or IM and Social then they should be ok to remove, although I like to use Titanium Backup to freeze apps just to make sure before removing them completely. You can use the scripts here in the forum to get back any stock Metro loaded apps in case you remove one that is needed though. Also i believe Im and Social or somthing called Social+ will give you a force close error if you remove it and then try and goto settings/accounts and sync/Social+ settings since it will not be there.
 
i have 2 email apps on this phone. mail@metro, & email. can i get rid of mail@metro & still use the other app for my mail?
 
I used Titantium backup to freeze Mail@Metro as I use K-9 mail instead of either of Metro's or the stock email client. The Mail@Metro apk in Titanium Backup was com.seven.Z7. I left the default email alone just in case so you should be fine just using that.

wondering the same thing. has anyone removed the mail@metro?
it keeps coming up as a cached process and i dont want it in there
 
I know it hasnt been in the last few ROMS.. poster before said he froze it with no problems.. i'm guessing it would be safe.. but don't kill any stock apps before making a backup.. just to be on the safe side.. with cwm you can try anything and if all else fails.. restore.. i'm no expert by any means..
