Root List of apps safe to remove

ZVD seems to have more bloatware than before so I'm wondering if its ok to remove Google+. Also is it possible to maybe update this list so its in sync with ZVD. Thanks:)

I wasn't on D long enough to know what apps were added..... Google+ can go tho

sihome-metropcs-android7-prod-109659_111793_480x800_PRELOAD_SIGNED.apk (MyMetro)(You will be hit with a bunch of Force Closes when removing/deleting this app just pull your battery out and reboot and all will be good)

ShinySide, thanks so much for this list. It was very helpful in deleting all of Metro's Bloatware. I was holding off on Rooting my phone but when I kept getting full screen-size Ads messages every few days from Metro's "MyExtras" I got fed-up with the Random Ads on my phone!

FYI uninstalled CalendarProvider.apk and all my other calendar apps stopped working. So good thing i had a copy and reinstalled.
Using Root Explorer, I tried moving News.apk to a Trash Folder, but it keeps regenerating itself (so I'm guessing I shouldn't delete). Could someone tell me if it is safe to uninstall SmartShare, Latitude, or Places?

I delete all the calendar apks because I don't use it at all. The news apk shouldn't regenerate. What are you using to delete them?

Yes to smartshare. Latitude and places are actually apart of Google maps. Only way to get rid of them is to delete maps. But deleting maps also deletes Google navigation (the navigation app with the blue arrow icon)

Is anyone else getting MobileCare that's always running in the background?!? That thing uses every imaginable permission! Does it come from the ZCD update? Can I uninstall it??

You should be good to freeze/or delete/or block it. Have done all before. Just make a back-up prior to doing it. BTW it is removed from the #2 ROM from what I can see :)

I guess the ZVD update put the MobileCare system app into my phone. I uninstalled it, and have not had any problem so far.

And does anyone know what the system file/app "oma-dm 1.0" is or does? Does the ZVD update puts that into my phone as well??

okay you guys know how the apps above are safe to delete ? well when you delete them can you also delete there odex lol and you guys telling me i cn ?

Yes it is safe to delete the odex for the app you deleted-specific to the deleted app:D

I know i sound like a noob but how exactly do you access the system > app folder im fairly new to this

It's alright we've all been there before one time or another  In my opinion I like to use Root Explorer just due to the fact it seems really easy to navigate through the folders... Another good one would be ES File Explorer, a lot of people really like this one as well... Hopefully this will help you
