Root Little bit of trouble.

Hi chaps, seem to be having a bit of trouble with my DHD! Basically, it keeps freezing a couple of minutes after a boot. Have tried 3 different Roms and with all the same results. The only thing i can see, is that after doing the factory reset and cache wipe, on the way to wipe the dalvik cache it says E:unkown volume for path [/sd-ext].

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.:o

Do you have your SD Partitioned for apps2sd/links2sd? If not, I think you can pretty much ignore that error. SD Ext is the partition created if you have part of your SD Card setup as an extension of your internal memory.

What ROMs have you tried?

No, no partition set. Just weird, cos i haven'ts seen that message before.
I have tried ascension ICS version 6 and 7, and also the Primo s v1, just because those are the ones that are on my sd card.

Well its a bit conflicting really, before today the ICS roms have been playing nice, but I have just managed to download Cm7.1 and it seems to be working....so far. Scratch that, just done it. But on the plus side, it looks as though its the Wifi thats doing it, cos it was fine till i turned that on. Dam.

Oh darn it, (not What i really said). I have just received this handset back from vodafone, because my wifi and volume rocker were broken, thing is, the handset they returned to me is/was a branded one! Does this mean i will have to find an RUU to run? Or do you think they won't notice?:D

Any colourful language would've been picked up by the filter anyway :p

I'd feel more comfortable with a branded RUU, but I'm sure I read a post recently where someone returned an Orange handset with unbranded S/W on it and they didn't notice.

I've a feeling there's an voda branded RUU kicking about anyway. I'll see what can come up with tomorrow if that's cool?

I recently read (somewhere on here) that, if the phone is over 6 months old, carriers do not even look to get them repaired... just ship them back to HTC to deal with (who don't care if it's branded or non branded).

Not sure how they'll deal with this phone then, they told me it was a new phone, although it came in a bubble wrap bag with no battery cover or anything.

El Pesidente, did you have any luck looking for this RUU? :)

Unfortunately, no. From what I can gather, Vodafone released a software version which had the same number as that of a standard HTC release, as a consequence, all I can find is stock HTC offerings, sorry.

If you have any idea of Voda software numbers, that would help.

I don't unfortunately, but that's my own fault. Well thanks for looking anyway. I will just try an unbranded version and try my luck. :)
