Help live wallpaper effect on battery

So I just downloaded the nexus s live wallpaper and wanted to know what kind of effect that it would have on my battery. I know that the battery on the inspire is not that good anyways but I really don't need it to effect it that much.

It's all dependent on each wallpaper, some draw more power, others don't. The more your screen is on, the more it's going to draw as well. If you use your phone a lot, it will probably reduce your battery time a bit. Live walls took my battery down faster but I'm always near somewhere to charge so I don't mind.

Yea that is what I thought. I really like the new nexus wallpaper, but not sure if i can keep it or not. I am getting a bigger battery next week so this might help as well. I have notice that my battery goes down even when I am not using it, so I don't know if the live wallpaper is running even after put in sleep mode.

Oh no no, theres no way the live wallpaper is using juice while the phone is idle. The phone will always use battery while on though, so thats probably what you are seeing. My understanding with the live wallpaper is it uses juice only when you SEE it. So, if you are in an app, its not rendering the background, so its not using battery. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
