Help Load app from computer

Lurker
I recently purchase a Droid X2. I am still trying to figure it out. FOr whatever reason, I can not log into Google so I can not download any apps from the market place. I like chess and would like to install one of the apps from my computer.

I have downloaded the driver so I can see the contents of the card. I am not suer how to progress from there. Can someone outline how I should go about loading an app. TIA Tom

Can you not log into your Google account from your computer, your phone, or both? Are you sure you're putting in the correct password and gmail addy? And what is the error message when you try to log in? Have you tried going to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Market then hitting both Clear Data and Clear Cache?

Once you have that straightened out, you simply open your market app and grant the permissions required to use the market. Then you can download the app from the market from either the phone or computer and it will install automatically. If you get an app as only an .apk file, you simply move it to your card, then install it (or try to open first, then the install option pops up, can't remember right off the bat.)

Tahnks for the reply. I am not able to log into Google from the droid although I am able to log in through the computer. I went to the place where I purchased it and they created a new account on google to make suer I was entering the right password.

I did clear the cache as suggested without any luck.

Can I use wi-fi to load apps? I just need a way, any way, to load apps.

Thanks. Tom

Sure. WiFi should be your preferred way of downloading anything, since it doesn't count against your data usage and it's much quicker. Just go ahead and use your new Google account as your main, I guess. Just remember any apps you purchase will only be available using that account.
Weird that you can't log in. I would log into my account on the computer, change the password (leaving out symbols,) and see if I could log in.

yeah, it is weird that you can't log in, unless something is missing from your system files. Have you rooted your phone? Are you able to sign in to other accounts on your phone? (facebook, twitter, email, etc.)?

Are you sure 3g is on and functioning? I know that if 3g is not working, the Market app won't work.

Mine has always worked over Wifi, even when I didn't have a 3G signal.

I thought his problem was it won't work over 3g. He made it sound like he hasn't tried WiFi. I know that will work, but I'm wondering if he has a 3g signal at all or if it's evening functioning on his droid?

Wasn't sure, but wanted to ask.

If he has a google account he should be able to sign on and get in the market. Something doesn't sound right here.

In any case do a google search for Android Commander. I believe you can use that to install apps on your phone.
