Root Loading a ROM

Hey all,

New to Android Forums and looking for a little help. I used the "[GUIDE]S-OFF and Root HTC Android 2.2 and 2.3 with revolutionary" on my HTC Desire (Amon-Ra 2.0.1 for recovery). Everything went smoothly but I'm having a little trouble taking the next step.

I tried downloading Sandvoids ICS ROM from the xda-developers list. I put the zip on my sd card. If I reboot my phone, go into recovery, I only see the option of "flash from sd card".. am I supposed to have "install from sd" as well? I don't think the "Flash from sd card" is for ROMs right? From most of the forums it seems so. "Flash from sd card" gives an error on any ROMs I have tried. Can't seem to find any documentation on Amon-RA..

What am I missing?

Hi Greg, and welcome to AF

I've not used Amon Ra, but actually I would guess that flash from sd card *is* what you want.

Is there an option to toggle signature verification in the menu anywhere.? It may be that you need to turn that off.

Don't forget to take a nandroid first (and a full set of app/data backups - Titanium etc - as you'll need to wipe the phone).
