Help "Loading..." problem - anyone else?

Love the phone. Battery life seems to be improving for me as well since uninstalling "Protector" app.

One thing that's driving me bonkers is often in an app (particularly using the stock Internet), I press home, and it takes me to a "Loading" message with spinny circle. I think it only happens when pressing home vs back.

I've had it happen in other apps as well but it's not consistent, but happens enough it's already on my nerves.

Anyone else see this? My wallpaper is just a photo I took, not a live one or anything fancy. I don't have a crazy amount of apps, purposely started fresh with this phone rather than trying to start from a backup, even wiped the 16GB card before using it.

If no one else is seeing it, I guess I may look at deleting some of the apps to see if that helps.

I've had this on all my phones (all HTC). It reloading Sense. I had hoped that this phone with a supposedly lighter Sense skin and more powerful CPU wouldn't have this issue.

I've only seen it once so far, and it was immediately after disabling a bunch of bloatware, which I assumed had something to do with it.

Hopefully the OP's experience is a fluke (no offense OP) and most only see this when really taxing the resources.

It was an app I used to password protect a few apps on my device. Loved it on the orig dinc. Wasn't working at all on 4g, and i noticed in the battery usage it was in the top 3.

What kind of bloatware did you disable? Or do you mean once rooted?

You can disable it all, no root required. That's one of the best features of ICS. Just go into settings and choose "Apps", the select "All". Then select the app you want to disable and click on "Disable". If disable isn't an option, then click on "Uninstall Updates". Once you do that, you'll be able to go back in and disable the app. This doesn't uninstall the app, it just prevents it from running, using resources, and being listed in the app tray and in the Play Store.

All of the apps you disable are listed at the bottom of the app list, and you can always go back in and enable them if you need them in the future.

So I tried to disable VZ Navigator. I got the message, "If you disable a built-in app, other apps may misbehave." Has anyone else disable it without any problems?

I also get the loading message....

I have VZ Navigator disabled, along with a lot more of the preloaded apps. No problems related to that, you kind of just have to start disabling things gradually until something actually does go wrong. They all give you that warning by default.

I get the loading screen periodically, not sure why. It may be happening less over time though.

I am getting the loading screen for about 2-3 seconds when exiting out of all apps.

Seemed to start when i tried to add the stock gmail widget to a home screen, which never actually worked. Since then the loading screen has been spinning and pissing me off. Pulled the battery after shut-down but no help.

What is the factory reset. . . Power button and volume Up? Any other recs?

Edit: actually its anywhere from 2-5 seconds loading time now.

I'm getting the loading message plus busy circle every time I hit the home button and its driving crazy....it lasts about 10 seconds. It's the ONLY complaint I have about this wonderful phone. But I have missed photo opps and get very impatient. A battery pull does not resolve it.

I am having the same issue when hitting the home key or when the back button is taking me "home". Unfortunately, it takes about 45 seconds for mine to reload which is a real pain. It seems to happen 100% of the time for a few days, but then one day it stops happening. Then a few days later it returns. Sometimes rebooting helps and other times not. Has anyone figured out what's causing this?

My wife's does this shit, mine did but I have since quit using sense problem solved

Has anyone found a resolution for this, or does anyone even use this phone anymore... I bet I'm still the only one. :-). Mine has become very sluggish, low memory, and loading with the spiny wheel... Don't get the low space because I install very few apps... 10-15 tops...! Hasn't been an issue for almost 2 years and now all of a sudden it is.

Frustrated...

Toward the end I had to factory reset my Incredible 4G several times to keep it running. I suspect that Tapatalk was using the wrong section of memory. The 4G has a bizarre memory layout.

That was going to be my next step. If I go into settings\storage\Internal Storage.. "Make More Space" then clear temp data, that seems to work for a little while, but I am not sure what keeps using it all up. I've been trying to hold out to see if the Galaxy S5 Mini comes up in June, if not I think I will get the S4 Mini.

Thanks for the response! didn't think anyone was on this particular forum anymore... :)

I went with the LG G2 for free on Cyber Monday.

I never found what was borking my 4G. When I got below a certain amount of free memory I could no longer update or install apps. Factory reset.

Yep, that's the same issue I am having. Can't install updates. Clearing Temp Data has worked for me so far. But I am sure it's just a matter of time. I think I am going to buy a Galaxy S4 Mini on Ebay or something just to see if I like it.
