Help Locations app - downloading maps really slow?

I don't have a Desire HD, I have a Desire running a DHD rom, but that shouldn't make a difference. Were map downloads really slow for anybody else?

I have a 50mbit connection, I've been downloading the UK map for about 15 minutes and it's about 1/8 of the way done.

My net is running smoothly for eveything else other than the map downloads.

nope, mine is pretty fast in d/l the location maps

but I dun like the programme. I much prefer other offline map options
