Lock Screen Bypass Bug

Bug was found on S3 where it's possible to bypass the lockscreen with a few button presses. I was able to do it the first try using the method described. Once it's done, the notifications panel is inaccessible until restart, but other areas seem to be accessible.

Edit: I have JB on my phone. Seems like Engadget had trouble with S3's on ICS.

I tried a few times on mine with the latest Verizon update and nothing happened. I'm not worried

If you have usb debugging on, getting around the lockscreen is just a few commands away

This might have been fixed with today's update (UK)

It was only through the emergency dialer, tbh I think it was simply foolish for the report to have been publicised before a fix was implemented.

Reports like these just educate idiots on how to exploit security issues, leading to said idiots then attempting the exploit.
