Help Lock Screen Help

I had updated my GS3 last night, and I have a question about the lock screen. Before the update, I had it set up so when I turn it on, I would have to swipe the screen first, then it would attempt a face unlock, should that fail, it goes to the pattern. After the update, I could only set it up so I would swipe the screen or face unlock. Most of the time I turn on my phone to see the time, I don't need it to try to unlock. Is there a way to set it up the way I had it? Thanks in advance.

You could check out the Dynamic Notifications app. I use it in place of a lockscreen but you can also use it in conjunction with the stock lockscreen. Its great for AMOLED displays like the s3's.
The app description will do it more justice than i could lol but it makes it really easy to just check the time and see if you have any notifications and if you set it to be white on black background it uses negligible battery.
Pocket mode is excellent. it uses a sensor to know when you take the phone out your pocket to turn on the DN screen then turn it off when you put it back in your pocket (or face down) plus you can set the time out for it

+1 for Dynamic Notifications! One of my absolute favourite apps, hands down.
