Help Lock Screen image burn in

Kiri

Hey, so I recently just switched my lock screen wallpaper and noticed that there is some burn in issues on my Verizon S3 screen. My old lock screen wallpaper was a Jelly Bean wallpaper. As soon as I switch it to something more neutral, I could see remnants of the jelly bean wallpaper burned in.

The odd thing however... is that the burn in is only obvious on the lock screen. The same burn in areas are not seen on the homescreen. I'm attaching images to show you what I mean.

If you look at the right side of the lockscreen wallpaper, there are blotches of lighter gray.

Thanks for any help

I don't think the blotches are burn-in. I noticed it when my phone was literally out of the box when I used a black background. If I went and viewed the same image in the gallery the blotches were not apparent - meaning it couldn't be screen burn. Likewise if I used the image as a home screen background the blotches did not appear - as your example shows.
If it was screen burn it'd do it all the time.

I recently saw someone post to a forum about this, they found if they turned off the water ripple effect the blotches went away. I haven't tried it but I guess it makes sense - in order to do the ripple thing the phone must do some image manipulation and the blotches could be a side effect of this..

You're absolutely right! I turned off the ripple effect and the blotching was eliminated from the lock screen. Thanks a lot for the relief.

i have same problem. Disabling ripple effect clears lock screen but it is not an ideal solution. i love ripple effect. any other ideas for solution?
