Help Lock Screen Issue

If I hit the lock button, and then turn back on my screen to the screen where you slide the slider.. it keeps telling me I have 2 messages when I don't....am I blind...or is there a option to turn that off?

Are you using handcent or any other SMS program instead of the default?

I currently use Handcent and that happens to me. If I then open the "Messaging" app. close it. Then lock the screen it goes away.

Havent figured out if there is a setting to disable that.

I'm using GO SMS, but I was using it on my Ascend before the Optimus, and It never did that

Just figured out why though... if I delete the messages from GO SMS, it's still there BECAUSE the stock messaging app gets copies of each text, so If I only clear GO SMS, it's still there.. I need to clear the texts from both GO SMS, and the Stock messaging app.....which SUCKS...anyway to stop the stock messaging system from obtaining copies of the texts?
