Help Lock Screen Notifications ICS 4

Dear All

With lots of hope, i updated my GT-N7000 to ICS 4.0.3 builde IML74K.XXLPY

I have read couple of posts about android introduction lock screen notifications for e-mails and other applications, and may be a short calendar view. I am totally disappointed to see that nothing much has changed in the new version.

Can someone shed some light whether ICS has any good features like this, which will show some notifications similar to IOS. ??

Most of us are still waiting for the ICS update. Is yours a custom ROM or the ota update?
