Help Lock Screen Notifications - Light up screen??

whackg

Lurker
Hi,
I am brand new to android (from iphone) and am just wondering is there any option to turn on notifications on my lock screen so that when I receive texts or missed calls or even bbm messages or other apps my screen actually lights up?? Previously on iPhone it would always light up on any notification I had so I am aware of it..on the G3 I can wear a sound or vibrate if on that mode, but the no light up makes it really difficult and annoying for me to be able to know exactly when I get a message or alert. I am thinking there has to be an option however I have not been able to find it...my friends on the galaxy S5 have the option to also so maybe its just a G3 thing??

WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS whackg!

I myself do not have the LG G3,but,I found this article on customizing the lockscreen, which includes a form of what you're looking for:

How to customize the lock screen on the LG G3 | Android Central

Also note that the G3 has an LED which lights-up for notifications.
However,if this isn't your cup of tea, take a look around the GOOGLE PLAY STORE for an app that's more suited for what you wish.

Once again, WELCOME TO ANDROID FORUMS ! :)

Yes, the G3 has an led indicator which will flash different colors. An app like Lightflow will help you customize the colors.

If you still miss having the screen come on and notifications on the lock screen, then try the app called NiLS (which literally stands for Notifications in Lock Screen). It goes far beyond what the iPhone offered in terms of lock screen notifications.

I think you will love the customization availability with Android vs limitations with iPhone.

For texts, if you're using something like Go SMS or Handcent, you can go into the app and customize LED notifications/sounds on a whole or on an individual level.
